The Epiphany of the Lord

"since from you shall come a ruler, who is to shepherd my people Israel" Matthew 2,6b

Who is guiding you?
Ever taken a guided tour? Ever wondered why is it that a tour guide is needed? Our society tells us to have a go-it-alone type attitude. That we do not need anybody to get to where we want to go. But leaving it to our wits and experience is not enough. We need a tour guide.

Today's Gospel reading (Matthew 2,1-12) tells us that the wise men who were very intelligent did not go in search of the Messiah by their own power, but were guided by star.

Jesus is our "tour guide". He is Wisdom Incarnate and will always know what's good, which places to avoid, and how to get the most out of a visit. He will lead us to our destination....heaven!
